I have simulated it in spice and it works just fine. You could also use a digital pin of a microcontroller to latch it to off. Pretty neat. Here is a simple circuit. With a little testing I was able to wire in recharge port that turns the blue ring on and off with the kill key. Ill have one of these little guys in all my sabers without sound. Hello, I've been doing simple things with the arduino but I'm having a few problems some code for a momentary switch and I'm not sure how to "latch" the code so it doesn't continue switching a relay when the switch is held.
Here is what I'm trying to achieve: When the momentary switch is pressed, I need the LED to light uno led on pin 13 and the relay to switch. When pressed again the LED should turn off and the relay switch back. I'm using a dual latching relay that has a current pulse requirement of around 20mA 5V.
WIth the code I posted below the relay is switching via a short pulse on a high and low pin and the led is lighting. The problem is that the LED and relay continue to change status when the switch is held.
I need it to stop switching and retain the status if the switch is held by accident. Right now it will flip a few times on one short push. It's also slightly erratic, sometimes it doesn't register the switch.

This device will allow you to either momentarily pass-through a signal with the push-button or use the switch to allow a latched pass-through. Pictured below is a photo of all the parts needed. First, because the momentary switch will not fit, you will need to drill out the hole in the panel to fit the switch.

While wearing protection, drill out the hole shown in the photo above. Now that the momentary switch will fit in the panel, install the switches as shown above. We recomend to orient both switches exactly as shown above, this will make wiring the components later on much easier. Make sure the switches are tight and flush against the PCB. For the latching switch, you can make it so the switch does not stick out of the front of the panel as much by moving the bottom nut up a few threads and leaving enough threading for the top nut.
Make sure that the switches are tightly secured on the panel. Now install the two jacks in the remaining holes. Again, orienting the jacks exactly as shown in the photo will make wiring the components together significantly easier.
Install two wires to the jack next to the momentary switch. Now install two wires into the tip connection for the jack next to the momentary switch. Solder them into place.
Now run one of the wires from the jack to one of the pins of the momentary switch and the other wire to one of the pins of the latching switch.
Solder the wires down once they have been placed. Connect the 2nd pins of both switches to the tip pin of the other jack. Now we are going to repeat what we did for the first jack to the second jack and the second pins on both switches.A new planet is discovered reading answer

Yes, we have an SSR solid state relay 'smart switch' with latching and optional timer capabilities! The programmable nature of this switch means it can be used in many different ways. Double pole latching relays require 2 switches to operate, and regular single pole latching relays require polarity reversal to operate.
But what if you want to use a momentary contact 12 volt switch to toggle a circuit on and off? It draws a miniscule standby quiescent current of 0. It has an output handling capability of 7 amps 12v and can be quickly configured simply by adjusting 4 switches on the side of the unit.
Here are the settings:. In latching mode, it will trigger with either a momentary pulse or continuous input, whenever a signal is sensed. When that trigger input is applied while it is on in latching modeit will turn off. It does not have to be a 12v trigger signal - it could be for example a 5 volt TTL input from a microcontroller unit MCU. The output can be configured as normally on or normally off, and the input can be configured to receive either a positive or negative triggering pulse.
It will activate on the leading edge of a negative pulse, or the trailing edge of a positive pulse. There are two timer ranges, from zero to 1 second, or from 1 to seconds.
The timed output can be precisely set in either range simply by rotating a small control, accessible at the side of the unit. The unit ships with 2 wiring harnesses, one for output heavy gauge wire, fused at 7 amp and one for input control lighter gauge wire, fused at 3 amp. Here is the wiring information:.
